O Canto do Cisne (Swan Song) - restaging for CNB premieres in July

“O Canto do Cisne” (Swan Song) was created in 2004 for the extinct Ballet Gulbenkian (1961-2005), from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

For this recreation, commissioned by the National Ballet of Portugal (CNB), Andermatt will be working with the same artistic collaborators of the original piece: Amélia Bentes (artistic consultant); Barbara Griggi (choreographer's assistant);  Vítor Rua (music - variations on the Camille Saint-Saëns movement for "The Swan"); and Aleksandar Protic (costume designer). Manuel Abrantes will adapt the original lighting design by Rui Horta.

The rehearsals with the CNB ballet dancers began in May, with the balletmaster Rui Alexandre.
