Muda

"Muda" continues a history of collaboration and complicity between INAC and ACCCA. Clara Andermatt was invited by INAC in 2019 and 2020 to teach an "Artistic Creation Laboratory," an intense and productive work that still reverberates in the memory of the participants. Additionally, there is the artistic relationship between Andermatt and Bruno Machado, the current director of INAC, who had previously participated as a performer in the play "Novo-Velho-Circo" in 2015.

The creative process focused on research, experimentation, and the sharing of different perspectives from a technical, disciplinary, and methodological standpoint. By involving performers from various geographical backgrounds and artistic affiliations, the project celebrates the diversity of knowledge, cultures, and circus practices, enriching the experience, sensitivity, and knowledge of the artists involved. Traditionally associated with marginalized people, contemporary circus has become a territory of inclusion open to the artistic potential of deviation and transgression, yet it retains the ability to reach diverse audiences, spanning generations, levels of education, and social backgrounds.

The purpose of designing the show for different stages, from the most conventional to public spaces or tents, demonstrates the desire to tour from north to south of the country and reach everyone.

SYNOPSIS

ACCCA and INAC invest in a partnership that blends methodologies and languages of contemporary circus and dance from the acrobatic body and its techniques.

MUDA is a reflection on the multifaceted nature of the human condition, exploring performative work in correlation with the aesthetics of silent cinema. Humor intertwines with tragedy, fantasy with reality, and violence with love. The silent extension of things reveals a complex world that challenges us, like tightrope walkers on the razor's edge, to transcend the paradoxes of humanity and find the point of convergence that leads us to the discovery of beauty.
