Portrait

An inner journey based on questions about oneself and the exteriorization of thoughts and emotions coming from different ways of looking at one's own image. Rediscovering the body through gesture, sound, painting and will, building imaginary and poetic landscapes in a dance that oscillates between reality, dream and the perception of the performer projecting himself into the world.

"Portrait" is LaB inDança’s new creation, presented as an experimental film. It emerges from a long period of uncertainty and adaptation brought about by the challenges of the pandemic crisis. In 2020, a stage performance had been planned; however, the circumstances made it necessary to rethink both the working dynamics and the format of presentation.

Launched in 2015 and under the Artistic Direction of Clara Andermatt until 2023, LaB inDança is a continuous training project that offers everyone — and particularly people with disabilities — a wide range of formative and performative experiences in contemporary dance. It is grounded in the idea of making artistic experience accessible as both a value and a right. LaB inDança was supported by the 3rd edition of PARTIS (Artistic Practices for Social Inclusion), an initiative of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
