The first semester of ACCCA opens with two premieres: BULUKU, a performance for young audiences by Djam Neguin, and the premiere of the faithful revival of O CANSAÇO DOS SANTOS, a work originally created in 1991 and now presented again in co-production with Escola Lugar Presente. DoO TERREIRO AO MUNDO continues its national tour. The programme also includes a strong educational strand, with professional workshops led by Clara Andermatt in Madeira and Cabo Verde, as well as the continued activity of Estúdio ACCCA as an active hub for welcoming and supporting the artistic community.
BULUKU, a creation by the young Cape Verdean artist Djam Neguin, is hosted and produced by ACCCA as part of its strategy to promote and accompany new creators, continuing its close relationship with Cabo Verde and with artists from that territory. Conceived for young audiences, the project includes mediation activities that strengthen audience engagement, and also benefits from the artistic consultancy of Clara Andermatt, who accompanies the creative development of the work.
The programme also includes the revival of O CANSAÇO DOS SANTOS, in co-production with Escola Lugar Presente. Originally created in 1991, this landmark work of Portuguese contemporary dance returns in a faithful reconstruction, performed by semi-professional dancers and trainees, establishing itself simultaneously as both an artistic and a training project.
In parallel, Clara Andermatt provides choreographic consultancy for the project TÊTE-À-TÊTE, a collaborative creation by Ana Jezabel, Ángela Diaz Quintela and Daniela Salazar, within the framework of support for young creators, accompanying their creative process.
The national tour of DO TERREIRO AO MUNDO, a work by Clara Andermatt inspired by the tradition of the Pauliteiros and produced by Companhia Instável, also continues, with performances in Covilhã and Ourém.
On the training front, Clara Andermatt will lead professional workshops in Madeira, with the group Dançando com a Diferença, and in Cabo Verde at Festival Kontornu. Throughout the semester, Estúdio ACCCA remains an active hub for creation, residencies, training, encounter and artistic mediation.
